Diversification of the cropping system increases resource use efficiency and reduces the need for external sources of nutrients and plant protection products. Uptake of diversification is largely hindered by socioeconomic and technological lock-ins, calling for a collaboration between researchers and farmers to identify which practices that are practically applicable. In this project, the postdoctoral scholar will together with other researchers, farmers and crop advisors at the farming consultancy company Lovang Lantbrukskonsult co-develop, test and evaluate candidate solutions to more diverse arable cropping practices under real farming conditions.
The postdoc will coordinate co-development, study design, data collation and analysis, as well as write and publish scientific papers in collaboration with the research team. The postdoc is also expected to contribute to team activities, assist in student supervision and communicate with stakeholders. This research project is part of FORCE (https://force-sweden.se/), a centre for preparedness and competitiveness. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Lund University and the centre’s non-academic partners.
