We warmly invite colleagues and researchers to take part in the upcoming AEET, Sfe² & EEF Joint Meeting 2027 that will take place from September 20th to 24th, 2027, at the Conference Center of Zaragoza, located on the banks of the Ebro River. This conference aims to provide a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas, presenting cutting-edge research, fostering inspiring dialogues, and promoting meaningful collaborations. Approximately 1,200 delegates are expected to attend, including researchers, teachers, technicians, natural heritage managers, and ecology students from across Europe and beyond.
The conference has adopted a theme that encourages reflection on the tasks ahead to improve our future: « Together in ecology: bridging nature and society for resilient futures ». This motto embodies our collective commitment to transcending barriers—whether between nations, scientific disciplines, or society at large—as we address the pressing uncertainties of our times. It invites participants to promote transdisciplinary approaches that address issues of importance to society, for which ecology is an essential component. We therefore welcome other disciplines and the general public to join this event and learn more about the value of nature for the survival and well-being of all ecosystems.
The conference at a glance:
We have put together a diverse and cross-disciplinary scientific program that we hope you will find stimulating and thought-provoking. The conference will be structured around the following key topics:
- Spatial ecology
- Evolutionary ecology
- From individual to community ecology
- Novel methodological approaches
- One health
- Preserving biodiversity under global change: from conservation to restoration
Thematic sessions will complement the scientific program of our meeting, providing a forum for the exploration of specific, timely, innovative and important issues in the field of ecology, and highlighting cross-disciplinary work.
Six plenary lectures will be given by speakers of recognized prestige and international impact, and nearly 900 scientific papers will be presented, including oral presentations and posters. Poster sessions will play a prominent role, allowing for informal yet in-depth conversations, providing a valuable platform for sharing work, fostering collaboration, and connecting with a wider audience in a dynamic and enjoyable setting.
Technical field trips will be featured, providing opportunities to showcase knowledge and applied technologies on ecological systems in real-world settings. Other complementary training activities for researchers will be scheduled: seminars and workshops on basic science, methodologies, creativity and communication skills, open science, applying for competitive calls, etc. A variety of activities aimed at early career researchers will also be offered.
Furthermore, to promote interaction and collaboration among individuals and research groups participating in the conference, the organizers have designed some events to encourage networking and socializing among conference attendees.

Call for Thematic Sessions Proposals is open until 29th May 2026
We encourage all members of the ecological research community to participate in this conference by submitting a proposal for a thematic session.
To submit a proposal, please fill in all the fields of this FORM before 29th May 2026 (12:00 h. UTC+1).
The selection process is competitive. Proposals will be evaluated based on the clarity of their objectives and the timeliness of the subject matter. Once the Scientific Committee has evaluated all the proposals received, the list of accepted sessions will be published.
Before submitting your application, please consider carefully whether you will be able to allocate the time needed for planning and managing the session and take into consideration the rules and recommendations stated here.
