We are delighted to announce that abstract submission is now open for Species on the Move 2026.
This interdisciplinary conference brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss how species, ecosystems, and societies are responding to our changing world.
SOTM 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the series, featuring a special retrospective on the past decade and forward-looking perspectives on research gaps. The conference considers all species, all biomes, all disciplines and all knowledge systems, with the following themes:
– Reshaping Biodiversity Landscapes and Seascapes
– Temporal Dynamics and Ecosystem Transitions
– Tracking Change: Technologies, Open Science, and Predictive Systems
– Biotic Interactions in a Changing Climate
– Mechanisms of Adaptation: Genes, Evolution, and Behavior
– Human Wellbeing, Cultural Values, and Economic Consequences
– Policy Pathways and Conservation Strategies for a Moving Biosphere
SOTM has always been one of the most ECR-friendly conferences — this time with an inclusive rate for all ECRs (≤5 years post-PhD), dedicated networking and career events, and on-site licensed childcare to make participation easier for everyone.
