Using technology (AI, ontologies, GIS, satellite imagery), we provide infrastructure operators and natural asset managers with large-scale diagnostics and management recommendations leveraging ecosystem services.

About the job

We are looking for several PhDs in environmental sciences with significant expertise in plant biology/botany and nature based solutions to help us develop and model nature-based solutions to plan asset management strategies in a natural or urban setting. We collaborate with several university research laboratories in the fields of plant engineering microbiology and bioacoustics.
The role is based in Aix-en-Provence, and combines on-site and remote work.

Responsibilities

You will identify, test and combine management and remediation strategies relevant to each use case, and collaborate with our team of developers to model and integrate these strategies into our decision support platform. You should have a solid understanding of current environmental issues and remediation approaches validated by academic research. In particular, you should understand the use and control of vegetation, be comfortable with geospatial information systems, large datasets, statistics and/or modeling. Knowledge of public policies and financial incentives supporting environmental protection will be an asset.
You must hold a PhD in plant biology or a relevant field of environmental science, and keep abreast of the scientific literature.

In addition to training and experience, you must have the energy and resources to work as part of a team, but also independently if required, to take on a variety of R&D projects and ensure the completion of deliverables for our partners and customers. As Green Praxis is still a young startup, you’ll be working cross-functional and stimulating environment.

Qualifications

– PhD in botany/plant biology/environmental sciences

– Excellent knowledge of botany/ecosystem/plant biology and
– Desired knowledge in remediation strategies/landscape and urban planning/valuation of ecosystem services
– Understanding of data analysis and statistics
– Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
– Fluency in English required, fluency in French a major asset
