New post-doc position available at the Centre of Evolutionary and Functional Ecology (CEFE), University of Montpellier. The position is fully financed
for a period of 15 months with a salary according to the common French standards. The start date is flexible with the earliest possible appointment by March 1st 2024.

Post-doc “Plant and soil responses to summer drought and changing soil biodiversity”

The post-doc position is part of the BELOW project including several French partners, funded by the Occitanie Region. As part of BELOW, a long-term controlled experiment at the CNRS European Ecotron of Montpellier (www.ecotron.cnrs.fr), a world leading controlled environmental facility for ecosystem research, aims at understanding the consequences of increasing summer drought and changing soil fauna biodiversity on plant growth, root traits and soil microbial responses in a Mediterranean forest ecosystem. The experiment finished after five years in June 2023 and the majority of data is collected.
The post-doc will primarily focus on the analysis of the available data, their interpretation and paper writing in interaction and collaboration with the hosting research group.

Requirements:
• PhD degree in ecology or any related discipline
• Skills in data analysis and statistics (preferably using R)
• Propensity for data interpretation and paper writing
• Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
• Facility for collaborative work
• Proficient English language skills
