As the intertwined crises of climate change and biodiversity loss continue to intensify, the upcoming Nature-based Solutions International Congress 2026 aims to become a major international gathering dedicated to shaping a resilient future for people and nature through knowledge and action.
From 2 to 6 November 2026 in Paris, the Congress will bring together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, local and regional representatives, public authorities, businesses, investors, and civil society actors from around the world. Organised by SOLU-BIOD and NetworkNature, in collaboration with UNP+, Biodiversa+, Sorbonne University and the City of Paris, the event will foster dialogue across disciplines and sectors to strengthen synergies and amplify the international impact of Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
A Strategic Moment for Nature-based Solutions
Climate change and biodiversity loss are no longer future threats. Their combined impacts are already affecting ecosystems, food and water security, public health, social justice, and economic stability worldwide. In this context, Nature-based Solutions are increasingly recognised across science, policy, and practice as essential tools to strengthen societal, environmental, and economic resilience.
The Congress will provide a unique platform to connect the scientific, policy, and practitioner communities working to advance NbS globally, encouraging collaboration and exchange between knowledge production and action on the ground.
A Congress Built Around Science, Policy and Practice
The Congress is structured around two interconnected programmes designed to create strong knowledge-to-action pathways.
Scientific Conference | 3–6 November 2026
Organised by SOLU-BIOD, Sorbonne University and Biodiversa+, the Scientific Conference will offer a dedicated international forum for interdisciplinary, participatory, and action-oriented research on the design, implementation, and evaluation of NbS.
Following a highly successful Call for Sessions — which received more than 110 proposals involving hundreds of researchers worldwide — the Congress is now officially launching its international Call for Abstracts and Posters.
Researchers and practitioners are invited to contribute to thematic sessions or present their work through posters, showcasing innovative NbS research and initiatives from across the globe.
🗓️ Application deadline: 5 June 2026
The full programme, session descriptions, submission guidelines, and application link are available on the official Congress website: https://nbscongress.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/10
NetworkNature Week | 2–5 November 2026
Running in parallel to the Scientific Conference, the NetworkNature Week 2026 will gather stakeholders from across research, policy, governance, business, and civil society to explore how public authorities can help drive resilient futures for people and nature.
The programme will include:
2 November | NetworkNature Science Policy Dialogue
3 November | NetworkNature Annual Event 2026 — Futures with Nature
4 November | Nature-based Solutions Cities Festival, organised by UNP+ in collaboration with NetworkNature and supported by the City of Paris
5 November | NetworkNature Task Forces Cluster Meeting (reserved for Task Force members)
An open call for contributions to *Futures with Nature* is currently in preparation: https://nbscongress.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/8
