The HABITRACK programme, selected as part of the HORIZON-CL6-2023-BIODIV-01 (Biodiversity and ecosystem services) call for tenders, aims to provide crucial knowledge for the conservation of the breeding, migration and wintering habitats of 14 species of game birds in Europe. These species are in decline, and there is a serious lack of information on their habitat quality and quantity requirements in order to effectively organise the management and restoration of their habitats to ensure that their conservation status is restored to a favourable level. Habitat use and selection are based on the massive deployment of GPS tags on adult birds (100 units per species). The aim of this programme is to provide decision-makers and managers with appropriate recommendations for breeding and wintering habitat management policies.

At the LIENSs UMR 7266 laboratory (Université de la Rochelle-CNRS), the engineer will be responsible for analysing some of the data on shorebirds, and in particular on one species: the lapwing.
