Postdoctoral research position in PLANT-SOIL INTERACTIONS

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in joining our ongoing projects on plant-soil feedback (PSF). PSF research is rapidly gaining interest, especially in relation to climate change effects, determinants of plant species coexistence and the role of plant traits in these processes. The postdoc will specifically explore the importance of intra- and interspecific variation in plant species traits in predicting PSF outcomes and focus on the importance of PSF in species responses to climate change, two hot topics of current PSF research. The postdoc will primarily work on existing datasets on plant performance and biotic and abiotic soil components, but ambitions to design additional own experiments and prepare own projects related to the overall theme are encouraged. There is also a possibility to (co-)supervise students at various levels.
We search a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher interested in plant-soil interactions with very good analytical and paper writing skills. We welcome candidates also interested in starting their independent research projects within our group and staying with us past the postdoc period. Securing additional future funding will be encouraged.
Application and project duration. The position may start as soon as possible and will last until 31st December 2023 with the ambition to acquire funds to extend it. The position is full time, but other options may be negotiated. The applications will be evaluated on March 31st, later applications will be accepted in case the position remains unfilled. The Postdoc will be selected based on past publication record and analytical skills, experience with the topic, enthusiasm, motivation and possible vision on future independent research.
We offer a young and friendly working group broadly interested in plant population biology,
genetics and epigenetics with a strong focus on plant-soil interactions and climate adaptations. Our group consists of many early careers scientists with diverse, international backgrounds. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative team, but must be highly self-motivated and work well independently.
